Storm track changes

February 27, 2012

Computer models are now showing a more northerly track for the low pressure system that will move through the upper midwest Tuesday into Wednesday.

That means that the Twin Cities area would see some snow develop on Tuesday, followed by a rain/snow/sleet/freezing rain mix later Tuesday, changing to mostly snow by Wednesday. There is plenty of moisture with this storm system, and some areas of Minnesota and Wisconsin could see double-digit snow totals. Areas that see any periods of rain would see much lower snow totals.

You can check back with your favorite broadcast/Internet meteorologists or go to the National Weather Service website for the latest watches and warnings for this winter storm.
